Prince George and Princess Charlotte were clearly on older-sibling duty at Trooping the Colour, the official birthday celebration for grandfather King Charles III.
Life as a member of the British royal family inevitably means following various rules of etiquette and protocol. Luckily for six-year-old Prince Louis, his older brother and sister—George, 10, and Charlotte, 9—were prepared to give him tips and pointers throughout Saturday’s festivities in London.
In one clip posted online, little Louis can be seen looking up at dad Prince William during the family’s traditional appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony. George then taps Louis on the arm and appears to tell his brother, “Turn around”—at which point Louis immediately obliges.
In another moment going viral, the Wales children stand at attention as the United Kingdom’s national anthem begins to play. Charlotte then takes a moment to check in on Louis, and demonstrates to him how he should place his arms at his sides during the song.
The Wales children aren’t the only family members who’ve been the target of royal corrections over the years. In 2016, William was seen kneeling next to a then-two-year-old George to watch the Royal Air Force flypast on the palace balcony. William then turned his head to speak with brother Prince Harry, before he was tapped on the shoulder by his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. The monarch gestured for him to move and appeared to tell her grandson, “Stand up.” At this, William immediately rose. (You can watch the hilarious moment here.)
Saturday marked the first time George, Charlotte, and Louis have made a joint public appearance together in 2024. They joined their mother, Princess Kate, who was reentering the spotlight after a nearly six-month absence from royal duties amid her cancer treatment.
