David Zwirner Gallery Celebrates 25 Years

This past Saturday David Zwirner celebrated its 25th anniversary with an opening reception of a special exhibition, "David Zwirner: 25 Years" at its Chelsea gallery spaces—which features a roll call of the gallery's heavy hitters including Jeff Koons, Nate Lowman, Carol Bove, and Kerry James Marshall—followed by a blowout bash, in true New York style at the Top of the Standard. As Zwirner looked back on his gallery's growth from its humble origins in '90s Soho to a global art empire that soon will include an outpost in Hong Kong and a gleaming new Renzo Piano-designed New York flagship, many of those same artists were in attendance. They partied arty with a fashionable set including Lourdes Leon, Stella Schnabel, Theodora Richards, and Buddy, artist Philip-Lorca diCorcia's very photogenic dog, to tunes by The Misshapes and Timo Weiland.
