My family is a mixed bag (aren’t they all); I easily burn then tan, my brother burns then er, burns again, my stepmother is basically allergic to the sun, and then there’s my son Dylan, who is mixed-race but has extremely sensitive skin. Like I said, to withstand a holiday in the Young household is to become a champion among suncreams. So, having now packed this new wonderstuff on not one, but three trips to face the sun (I know, lucky us) is to be a champion amongst suncreams. Fake tan isn’t my friend usually. Perhaps it’s because I grew up in the era of stained hands (and towels and bedsheets…), but also I’m just a bit too lazy to make the time for it. I do, however, like a constant sun-kissed glow to my face, no matter the time of year, and this is the best product I’ve found to do that. A few spritzes, a few times a week, gives a seamless boost to my complexion, just a shade darker and more evened out. It’s really, truly, foolproof.

I’m usually a tubing mascara girl (those ones that peel off when you dampen them with warm water) as they are truly smudge-free, but they don’t always give good lash separation or volume. This is one of my only exceptions. The formula is really lightweight, it almost paints on, so you won’t get those spidery clumps, and the lift doesn’t droop through the day. Despite it not being waterproof (although there is a version, if that’s your bag) I don’t see a single smudge. A true all-rounder of a mascara. - JG
Makeup By Mario launched in the UK to much fanfare but I’ve yet to get my hands on the products (so many launches, so little time). He’s the king of sultry, smoky eyes so this palette feels like a good place to start. Considering these are shades I’d wear daily, £12 feels like a must-have bargain.

There seems to be a new Daisy flanker every five minutes but for me, nothing beats the original. While most would associate this joyful, shimmering scent with flower-crowned youths running through a field (hello Kaia Gerber!), Daisy will always remind me of my sophisticated grandmother, who wore the scent when it first launched and kindly gave me her empty bottle, which I treasure to this day. I'm wilfully allergic to shimmer, so trust me when I say this water-weight serum delivers the most subtle, flattering glow of any bronzer I've tried: no flecks of glitter to be found.
