The best luxury bars, restaurants and beach clubs in Ibiza

If you enjoy chasing a sunset while you're on holiday then La Torre is the place for you. Located in the countryside of Cap Negret on the West of the island, the calming spot offers up an authentic island experience with a flavourful Mediterranean menu, quality drinks list and chilled soundtrack courtesy of the resident DJs (let's face it, it wouldn't be an Ibiza restaurant without one). Book a table on the main deck, which juts out from the front of the restaurant, giving the sensation of being on the edge of the world. While the food and setting are worth a visit alone, the real magic happens as the sun goes down – the view is truly spectacular and not one you're likely to forget in a hurry. For those who really fall in love with the spot (and so many do), La Torre is also a boutique hotel – so you don't ever have to leave.

One of the newest gourmet destinations on the White Isle, Maine Ibiza opened its imposing wooden doors in summer 2023 and is the latest outpost from international restaurant and bar group, The Maine. Less than a 15-minute drive from Ibiza Old Town, the 200-cover al-fresco space has been created in a beautiful and carefully restored 18th century finca, with dining over two levels. Offering a locally inspired menu and mouthwatering cocktails, it's already proven to be one of Ibiza's hottest new late-night hangouts, thanks in large part to the buzzy, candle-lit atmosphere and entertainment that runs into the early hours. If you're looking to push the boat out (and you have a good appetite) then we recommend the set menu, which saves you the agony of choosing between each of the tempting dishes. For a quieter meal, opt for an 8pm booking, or go from 10pm onwards for the full Maine Ibiza experience.

Another recent addition to the island, Zitya is a truly special spot, just a short drive from Ibiza Old Town. Having opened for its first summer season in May 2023, the restaurant, bar and patio is on the site of the once-iconic Naif – the legendary '90s hangout frequented by the likes of Kate Moss and Mick Jagger – and has been designed in tribute to its hedonistic predecessor. But this is far from second best to what came before. The food is excellent; a contemporary take on traditional Aegean cuisine, embracing the Italian and Greek heritage of the island of Rhodes, with some added Balearic flair. The cocktail menu is worth a visit alone. Beautifully designed, the restaurant also features areas that can be booked for private dining, under the glimmering lightbulbs that hang from the olive trees.

The Standard hotel is home to one of the only rooftop pools in Ibiza Old Town, boasting picturesque views of the surrounding villa-packed hills and city walls. Up, the adjoining rooftop bar and lounge area, has all the contemporary cool associated with The Standard brand, but with a distinctly Ibizan twist – all white walls, rattan furniture and uplifting beats. Doze on comfortable loungers under the retro-inspired sun umbrellas, and tuck into light bites from the Japanese-Mexican fusion menu (don't skip the tacos), washed down with the frozen cocktail of the day. The bar is only open for those aged 16 and above, and, during peak times, there may be a fee to use the pool for non-hotel guests. Once you're there, you won't want to leave.

Part restaurant, part beach club, part performance space, El Silencio has much to offer and something for everyone, depending on your mood. Tucked away in the secluded cove of Cala Moli, the seaside spot was inspired by the intersection of nature and art, and designed to be a place where the global creative community could come together. Dine at the impressive restaurant – helmed by the chef Mauro Colagreco of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Mirazur in France, and specialising in local Mediterranean flavours – while feeling the sand between your toes, before relaxing on a beach lounger. If you prefer a pool, then you can book sunbeds and snacks around the pool area, or unwind in the unique artistic chill-out zone. For something more lively, don't miss the regular pool parties and cabaret performances, created by Ali Mahdavi, the fashion photographer and former artistic director of the show Désirs at Crazy Horse in Paris.

La Mirada rooftop bar is part of the charming boutique hotel Petunia, which opened in summer 2020 on the island's south west coast. The cocktails are delicious, but what makes this stylish spot unmissable are the views of Es Vedra – a legendary rock formation said to be the third most magnetic place on earth (only the Bermuda Triangle and the North Pole rate higher) and, according to locals, is the source of the island’s famed energy. You don’t need to believe in that to appreciate its beauty at sunset, and La Mirada – with its outdoor sofas and expertly made drinks – delivers an enticing place to absorb it all.

There's a reason that Ushuaia is one of the most famous clubs, not only in Ibiza, but in the world. The legendary outdoor venue regularly plays host to the biggest electronic music acts around, and the likes of Calvin Harris and David Guetta have residencies there – truly, you never know who might make an appearance (Alicia Keys was a surprise guest this summer). The sound is ground-shaking, the atmosphere infectious, and all the pyrotechnics, lighting and performers make it a real party to remember, no matter who you're seeing.

S'Escalinata literally translates as 'the staircase', and that's precisely what this small bohemian bar is situated on. Guests sit on colourful bean bags which cover the cobbled steps, while listening to an eclectic soundtrack that veers from world music to live flamenco guitarists. The unique spot can be found within the Dalt Vila Unesco World Heritage Site, surrounded by historic Renaissance walls.

In the north of the island, The Giri Café specialises in a farm-to-fork experience inspired by the day’s harvest. Forming part of a boutique hotel in the sleepy village of San Juan, the menu celebrates local, seasonal produce presented in colourful sharing plates. The location is spectacular – a set of old wooden doors in the village square opens up onto a sun-soaked terrace and garden, and while the name says café, this is a destination to be enjoyed both day and night.
